Planning your stay at Dancing Coyote Beach? We’ve gathered answers to some of the most common questions to help you prepare. From booking and check-in details to amenities and local recommendations, the sections below are designed to make your visit as smooth and enjoyable as possible.

Reservations & Booking

How do I make a reservation?

All reservations must be made online via our Availability Calendar. If you need help, feel free to call us at 415-669-7200.

How far in advance can I book?

Reservations open 90 days in advance to preserve the spirit of spontaneity.

Is there a minimum stay requirement?

Sometimes. Weekends require a two-night minimum stay.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival forfeit the 25% deposit and incur a $25 fee. Changes or cancellations before then only incur the $25 fee. No refunds are offered for early departure or late cancellations.

Is there a waitlist for sold-out dates?

We don’t maintain a waitlist. We suggest checking back frequently for cancellations.

Check-In & Payment

What are check-in and check-out times?

Check-in begins at 3 pm, and check-out is by 11 am.

Can I check in early or check out late?

Unfortunately, we’re unable to offer early check-in or late checkout due to housekeeping needs.

When is payment due?

A 25% deposit is taken at booking. The remaining balance is charged the day before your arrival.

Cottages & Amenities

Do the cottages have WiFi?

While we treasure disconnecting to enjoy the natural surroundings, sometimes we must get online and all cottages include free WiFi.

Do cottages have kitchens?

Yes, each cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen with the essentials for simple meals, coffee, and tea.

Are linens and firewood provided?

Yes, premium linens, hand-crafted McRoskey mattresses, and stocked wood-burning fireplaces are provided in each cottage.

Do cottages have televisions or microwaves?

No.

Pets

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are welcome in our Acacia cottage (limit two per cottage, $50 fee). Beach and Birch are pet-free for guests seeking an animal-free environment.

Are there any pet restrictions?

Dogs must be well-mannered and under your supervision at all times.

Children & Guests

Can I bring young children?

For safety reasons, we do not accommodate children under the age of five.

What’s the maximum number of guests per cottage?

All cottages are designed for two guests, but accommodate additional sleeping spaces for two people at an added cost of $25 per person/night.

Nature & Location

What about insects?

Our cottages are in harmony with the coastal landscape. That means occasional visits from spiders, ants, or flies. We’ll help relocate them if needed, but refunds aren’t offered for these natural occurrences.

What’s the weather like?

Northern California’s coast is beautifully unpredictable. Pack for layers, cool evenings, fog, and the chance of wind or, in the cooler months, rain. The weather is lovely for hiking and boating year-round and, in summer, bring a bathing suit for a swim in the tranquil waters of Tomales Bay.

Are there nearby activities?

Yes! Point Reyes offers world-class hiking, kayaking, beaches for boating and swimming, birdwatching, horseback riding, and incredible food experiences.

Dining, Groceries & Activities

Are there restaurants nearby?

Absolutely. Inverness and Point Reyes Station offer wonderful dining options – from oyster shacks to wood-fired pizza and organic cafés.

What are some fun outdoor adventures you’d recommend?

All sorts of options are available for your perusal here.

Can I cook in the cottage?

Yes, each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen and there are local markets nearby with excellent provisions.

Other Details

Do you offer refunds during PG&E power outages?

No, we cannot provide refunds due to utility outages beyond our control.

Is there cell service?

Service varies by provider. WiFi is available in your cottage.

Where can I find more about the cottages' history?

Each cottage includes a copy of Time in My Coffee, written by architect Igor Sazevich, who designed the structures that comprise Dancing Coyote Beach in 1971.
